The Kennels
Our kennels offer a comfortable, secure, and nurturing environment for your dog. The purpose-built, fully insulated facility can accommodate up to 70 dogs, with each spacious kennel equipped with a cozy bed, vet bedding, blanket, and fresh water, which is regularly replenished.
We have a quiet section near our reception area for more anxious dogs, which includes two extra-large kennels designed for larger breeds. Many first-time boarders begin their stay here, allowing us to assess how they adjust to the new environment and determine where in the kennels they’ll feel most at home. We find that while some dogs initially prefer this area, most are more engaged in our middle section.
Our 'middle' section houses the majority of boarders and includes several chew-proof kennels along with three extra-large kennels. Each kennel in this area is opposite a large window with a view out to our enclosed run areas which allows each of our guests to enjoy plenty of natural light and watch the other guests go by.
The 'bottom' section is designed for our more boisterous boarders. Here, you'll find extra-large chew proof kennels filled with lots of natural light, toys and access to another of our outdoor, enclosed play areas.
To create a nice atmosphere for our guests, low-volume music is played throughout all areas of the kennels. Radiators are installed in the corridors to maintain a comfortable temperature during colder months, while overhead extractor fans provide ventilation during warmer weather.
Breeds and Temperaments
We welcome dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. As long as your dog is friendly with people, we’re happy to have them stay with us! We reserve the right to assess your pet before allowing them to board with us but will always endeavour to work with you to accommodate any particular needs that they may have.
We do not routinely mix dogs from different households so are often able to welcome reactive dogs to stay with us.
Exercise and Playtime
All dogs are exercised three times a day, either in our secure runs or on leash walks through the surrounding farm land. Dogs are walked using slip collars and extendable leads and remain on-lead outside of the kennels. If dogs are friendly, they may be walked alongside another dog however reactive dogs will always be walked alone.
We also offer three large enclosed runs for off-lead play and exercise. Dogs from the same family may share a run, while unfamiliar dogs are separated. Two of our runs share a fence, allowing us to safely observe how two dogs interact before walking them together.
For older or less mobile dogs, such as those with arthritis, run-only exercise may be a more suitable option, which will be discussed with you before boarding.
Our setup ensures that reactive dogs can enjoy their stay without the risk of interaction with other dogs.
Daily Routine
Our day begins with morning walks and exercise sessions in the runs. During this time, all kennels are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. Water bowls are emptied, cleaned, and refilled, and any soiled or damaged bedding is replaced.
The first meal of the day is served about 30 minutes after exercise. Once the dogs have finished their breakfast, all corridors are disinfected and hosed down to remove any lingering dirt or hair.
Lunchtime walks start at 12 PM, offering the dogs their longest walk of the day, and the second meal is served between 3-5 PM.
The final walk of the day begins at 4 PM. Afterwards, the kennels are cleaned again, water bowls are refreshed, and the dogs are settled in for the night with a bedtime treat (if they have no allergies). Once all the dogs are comfortable, the lights are turned off and the facility is locked for the evening. Our staff are on-site from 8 AM to 6 PM, with the dogs resting quietly overnight.
Feeding
We provide meals twice a day unless otherwise specified by the owner. Our food options include a complete dog kibble or Skinners sensitive dry food, along with a selection of tinned meats. If your dog has allergies or specific dietary needs, we ask that you bring their food along with them. If you choose to supply your own food we kindly ask that it is clearly labelled in a secure, lidded container.
If you feed your dog a raw diet we are able to offer refrigeration for this however freezer space is very limited.
Medication
Our staff are experienced in administering oral medications and keeping detailed records for each dog. Please remember to bring any necessary medications with clearly written instructions regarding dosage and timings. If your dog requires medication every 12 hours, it will be administered at 8 AM and 6 PM.
Vaccination Requirements
All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations for Distemper, Hepatitis, and Leptospirosis. You’ll need to provide vaccination records when dropping off your dog. We are unable to board any pet without these.
Kennel Cough Information
Kennel Cough (Canine Bronchitis) has become more common and, like human colds, it can spread easily. While it’s generally not serious, it can lead to more severe conditions, such as pneumonia, in some cases. Most dogs recover on their own within a week or two.
Although we maintain strict sanitation procedures, airborne viruses can still be contracted by incoming dogs. For this reason, we do not require the Kennel Cough vaccine, as it doesn’t protect against all strains. However, if you choose to vaccinate your dog, please ensure it is done at least 14 days before boarding. Dogs vaccinated within 14 days of their arrival date will not be accepted or permitted to board under any circumstances.
Additional Services
If your dog has stayed with us for an extended period or becomes dirty during their stay, we may offer a complimentary bath before they go home. If your dog has skin allergies or dislikes baths, please let us know.
We also offer to wash any bedding you provide for your dog's stay. If your dog has any sensitivities to detergents, kindly inform us beforehand.
